These past two weeks on campus have been gorgeous. I still find it hard to believe that it’s only March and we’ve already hit mid-80 degree weather. I’ve been meaning to write this post for a week, but I was too busy actually enjoying the weather outside to take the time to come in and write, so now, on this stormy Thursday evening I’m finally getting around to it.
I love this time of year at MSU. There’s something so Spartan about it. Michigan State has an amazing, beautiful campus and it’s so nice when the weather changes from snow and cold to warm and sunny because we can all finally take time to enjoy it again. I love that once the weather changes it’s like everyone comes out of hibernation. (more…)
Over spring break I finally had the chance to sit down and read The Spartan Life by Scott Westerman, Executive Director of the MSU Alumni Association and one of the speakers the Undergraduate Communication Association hosted earlier this semester. I was blown away by Scott’s passion and enthusiasm during his speech and I have to say that his passion and enthusiasm jumps off the page as well. I found myself highlighting on my Nook and making notes like crazy.

Our Spartan Men’s Basketball team ended the season with a Big Ten Championship, Draymond Green was named Big Ten Player of the Year and earned All American honors and our very own Mr. March, Tom Izzo, earned the honor of being the Big Ten Coach of the Year.
But really, did Spartan Nation expect any less?
I finished watching the MSU-Iowa basketball game not too long ago. Our Spartans dominated the Hawkeyes and many fans were wondering if Fran would end up throwing another chair before the game was over. It’s times like these, when the Spartans dominate and play tough basketball, that Spartan Nation gives the program a standing ovation. But it’s times like after the disappointing loss to Ohio State last Sunday that the basketball team really needs our support. (more…)
We were fortunate to have MSU alumni Rachel Grezlik and Matt Ferrel join us for one of our Undergraduate Communication Association meetings in February. They gave us a bit of their background from their time at Michigan State and told us a bit about what they do as Account Strategists at Google in Ann Arbor.
Both Rachel and Matt gave us some great advice about ways to get involved while still in school, job hunting and interviewing, but what stuck with me most was a question they told us they were asked during their interviews at Google. (more…)
